This Woman Rocks! | Leanne McBrian | Letterbox lane
This week in This Woman Rocks, it’s really lovely to be able to introduce you to another fabulous lady and mum Leanne McBrian who runs the design business Letterbox Lane. Leanne is Mum to Bea and Judah. Bea’s name means ‘she who brings joy’ and she is definitely living up to it. Leanne is from Nottingham which is near to Mama Jewels and we have lots of mutual friends in the Nottinghamshire area.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME? I don’t have much time for hobbies these days, however, I can always make time for a bit of treasure hunting in charity shops, or at car boot sales. I love a bargain and love finding interesting items to fill our home with’
WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS? Leanne runs an awesome illustration business called Letterbox Lane, creating bright, playful prints and cards with an aim to scatter joy and make people smile. She’s been running Letterbox Lane for 4 years.
HAVE YOU ALWAYS DONE THIS? I actually trained in acting and enjoyed creating and performing in community theatre up and down the Uk. I then worked as a teaching assistant in a special needs school, before realising my dream of selling my colourful scribbles for a living.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB? I love that I get to be creative for a living and that my creations go to live in homes all over the UK and beyond – that still blows my mind. T
EA OR COFFEE? I’ll always be a tea girl at heart, but these days I don’t think I could survive without my morning coffee to keep me going, especially as I spend most of my days chasing Bea around!
CHOCOLATE OR ICE CREAM? Chocolate always! Probably Cadbury’s fruit and nut.
DREAM HOLIDAY DESTINATION I would love to visit Japan in the blossom season.
WHAT KEEPS YOU GOING? My motivation every day is to keep being creative and keep playing. I also want to show my daughter that you can live out your dreams with a lot of passion and even more hard work. Ultimately I want to keep scattering joy and make the world a little brighter with my colourful illustrations.
Thanks so much, Leanne xx
